The regioal capital of Dijon is an incredibly diverse city that is the birthplace of the famous Dijon mustard.  It combines half-timbered houses, classical French architecture, Gothic cathedrals, and picturesque squares. The wine capital of Burgundy, Beaune hosts the annual wine auction. Hospices de Beaune, the stunning 15th-century alms house that’s a museum for much of the year but transforms into the home base of the grandest wine auction in the world. Roofs made of glazed flat tiles draw colourful patterns in a Flemish style punctuate the skyline and highlight the luminous beauty of the town.

Beaune is a fortress city surrounded by a well-preserved stone wall. In the old town, you will see Renaissance mansions and typical half-timbered houses.
