Besides a variety of routes through the vineyards and wineries of Burgundy, the historical sights of the region also deserve attention. The Basilica of Mary Magdalene in Vesle and the Cistercian Abbey in Fontenay are listed as UNESCO World Heritage.
Gastronomy is an integral part of Burgundian life. Exquisite cuisine, full of tradition and innovation. Cheese snacks with Kir (Kir is a mixture of white wine or sparkling wine with a blackcurrant liquor) for aperitif warm up your appetite. Marble ham (jambon persille), Burgundy snails (escargots de Bourgogne) or eggs in red wine sauce (oeufs en meurette) will be a delicious choice. Perhaps the most famous dish is beef-boeuf bourguignon. All these dishes are perfectly combined with the wines of the region.
