Ile-de-France and its administrative center Paris is the core of the French state. The Île-de-France region consists of 8 departments: Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Val-d’Oise.
Paris and its surrounding lands amaze guests with the beauty of palaces, castles, cathedrals, and other masterpieces of architecture. The famous palaces of Fontainebleau and Versailles are located in Ile-de-France, which used to serve as hunting residences. During the Middle Ages, French kings often traveled from Paris to hunt in the surrounding forests.
Here, in the city of Marne-la-Vallee, 35 km from the capital, Disneyland Park is located. This is a whole complex of entertainment facilities, where there is everything to spend an unforgettable day with the whole family. There are two parks on the territory — Disneyland Park with breathtaking rides and Walt Disney Studios Park, where you can get acquainted with the history and process of creating masterpieces of the film studio.
The gastronomic masterpieces of Ile-de-France are Parisian ham, Brie-de-Maux and Brie-de-Melun cheeses, Nanterre brioche, Houdan pâté, La Gâtine beer and Saint-Honoré cake.
